Epoxy Mortar

Epoxy Mortar

In an earlier post, Colin advised of a method of repair: For slightly larger knocks and holes and modifying window/portlight shapes etc..make and use an epoxy mortar. How does one make and use this "epoxy mortar"?

Hi Peter, I'm brand new to this list and have only just browsed a few of the posts, but I think "epoxy mortar" may apply to a few commercially available products. I've used with good results above and below waterline one such product called Epirez which comprises a thickish grey epoxy that is mixed with a graded quartz "sand". I know Sika also produce an Epoxy Repair Mortar which has been recommended to me but which I haven't tried as yet. Let's know if this is of help and you want more detail.

Hi Peter and Frank, you will find details of making epoxy mortar in my book 'Ferro-cement Boats'. Regards
