Hello, My Father owns the "Bequia"
a Samson designed Ferro-Cement ketch built by Romack Marine of
Long Beach, Califonia, USA in 1972. We have recently hauled it
and are in the process of cleaning the hull. Soon we will be
making repairs to the hull and repainting. We are seeking information
on repairing some places on the hull and keel. There are a couple
of bisters in the gelcoat and there are a couple of spots with
soft cement and rust. What gel-coat material is best and what
repair method is best? We would also like to identify the specific
design. We have a portfolio of generic drawings from Samson Marine
Design. We also have a few drawings of some details specific
to the boat for some detaled parts, but we do not have the overall
plans and do not know the name of the design. Can you help? I
have attached a picture of the boat and two pictures of a particularly
bad area of the keel that needs repair. Any information would
be appreciated.Thank you for your time.
